There were decidedly few things in the world that could completely distract Jaden Yuki from Dueling, or talking about Dueling, or even thinking about Dueling, but somehow, Jesse Anderson managed the feat simply by existing.
He had been talking very excitedly about the new cards he’d gotten from the campus card shop, and normally Jaden would have been just as enraptured with them. Yet, for some reason, he found himself completely enraptured with the blue-haired boy beside him, instead—with the way his green eyes twinkled with glee as he poured over the cards in his hands. The way his cheeks got all rosy as he flushed with excitement over a particularly powerful one.
He had a breathtaking smile that was downright infectious, Jaden mused when he discovered a mirror grin on his own face. He had such great enthusiasm for just about everything around him. Jaden found himself incredibly charmed by Jesse’s bubbly cheerfulness, even if he wasn’t quite following the conversation as closely as he should be.
“Well??” Jesse said, forcing Jaden back to attention. “What do you think, Jay?”
“I think,” Jaden replied without hesitation, “that I would really like to kiss you.”
Jesse blushed very prettily, he decided. The blue-haired boy’s mouth opened and shut in complete surprise as he struggled to get his bearings. He made several attempts at coherency:
“Y…you…I…but we…”
Jaden waited patiently for him to finish. Finally, Jesse blinked rapidly in what Jaden could only assume was something akin to a hard reset, and then blurted out, “Okay.”
Jaden grinned. “You mean it?”
Jesse’s face was still very red, but he grinned back and nodded firmly. “Yeah.”
“Great!”
He leaned forward, palms to the floor to hold his weight, and pressed his lips softly to Jesse’s. He had never kissed anyone before, but understood the concept. It felt a little strange in the first few seconds — pressing your mouth to someone else’s was a very weird thing if you thought about it — but then Jesse’s lips shifted to press back a little shyly against his, and the boy’s hands came up to gently cradle Jaden’s face, and some of his fingers lightly combed through the hair at the nape of Jaden’s neck, and Jaden promptly made up his mind right then and there that kissing was actually very nice. Especially if you really liked the person you were kissing.
They exchanged a few more small kisses before Jaden sat back on his feet and grinned.
“That was nice,” he declared.
“Yeah,” Jesse replied. His face was still red, and there was something a little dreamy in his smile. He reached up to rub at the back of his neck. “I…I wouldn’t mind doing it again some other time if you wanted to…”
Jaden’s grin broadened.
“Oh, I’ll definitely want to,” he assured him, and shifted so that his butt was back on the floor. “But what did you say this card does?”
As the audience, we usually see Victor in elegant clothes, but Yuuri almost always sees him in a tracksuit.
